Very true! I've been fly RC for 24 years, mostly fixed wing, and none of my other craft even come close to this level of technology. I do give it to 3DR, they built a very controllable quad, but understanding the tech behind the Solo is a must if you want to protect yourself from disaster.

That's kinda what I thought too but I figured if it was a button issue, I could eliminate that. Just starting to dabble in manual and haven't had an issue like this yet.

Has anyone had any issues switching from Fly Manual to Fly. Once I got back home and tested it, seemed to work fine. So I took some advice and mapped FLY to my B button. A is mapped to Fly Manual. I have submitted a Support Ticket and waiting on a reply. Any Ideas what might be going on?

Even though NOT ENABLED? I flew yesterday in Manual and there was no comparison to the uncontrollable near miss I had over the weekend. Maybe I didn't have gps loss?

Another question for you guys. If Advanced Flight Modes are not enabled in the App and Solo loses GPS, will Manual be automatically selected by Solo in order to remain in control?

I agree. In most cases anyway. I only had a small opening in the canopy above me in this situation. Up or a RTH in this case would have spelled disaster. I put myself and Solo in a spot I wasn't prepared for. Shame on me! Lucky for me, we lived to fly again.

I did exactly that. Mapped to A and Orbit to B but that will change tonight. I'll remember the wind trick, nice.

Yes it was facing me. it was sliding to my right that I couldn't stop with roll right on right stick. It definitely looked and felt it was moving on its own!

I've only had Solo since December and this is my first quad. I still haven't switched it to manual and love how it handles with GPS. I do see how handy, NOW, it would be to fly manually. Thanks!
