I own a Phantom2v2 (not used much now), Solo, and E384 (plane). With the work I should have in the very near future, I really wish I could mix and match payload with platform.
Payloads such as GoPro, Point-and-Shoot, mirrorless, Multispectral (i.e. Sequoia), and Thermal (i.e. Flir Vue Pro) to be interchangeable with Solo and a fixed wing platform. I understand the mounts/gimbals might not be interchangeable.
I was hoping to see more and faster adoption of the Solo platform. Though, it does seem to be making progress now. Assuming the Solo expands its payload capabilities... I'm not seeing many options in the fixed wing category (at a reasonable cost) that handle these payloads. I have been eyeing the Aeromao options as they use Pixhawk controller and work with Mission Planner too. I've been communicating with them to see if they can add a 2-axis gimbal to their units. As an interim fix, I'm looking at putting a GP4 on a Feiyu Tech WG gimbal mounted to a handle-bar mount on the E384.
