I know there is a TON of variation in this.. .what type of operation, what part of the country, what market you are aimed at... on and on... (ala some real estate photogs throw in a minute or so of drone footage or stills with their standard RE package or $50 more... while someone shooting a $20M home might be able to charge $1200/day.... or someone shooting a feature film flying a RED might get even more... )

but... just in general... for a full day of your time, with your 3DR drone and camera(s) with insurance, with part 107.... and alllllll the things you have to consider (wear and tear on the equipment, possibility of loss of equipment, on and on)...

What are some of you charging for a day's shooting?

I think we should expand on the considerations, what you are charging for:

Equipment
Remote Pilot License.
Insurance
Experience
RF Deconfliction
Restricted Airspace Permissions (if applicable)
Editing
Licensing/Permissions
The Deliverable itself
Tax

Don't sell yourself short.

not to mention how many customers are going to accept raw photos or pictures
I will spend 4 times the flying time minimum in post

Great...yeah, I mentioned most of those factors in the original post.

so what are y'all charging for a day rate of flying?

Well,

If you are doing it for a hobby can you do it for free.
Just cos I love flying her?

Nope. If the pics or video appear in any commercial way, then the flight was done as a professional. Even if the pilot doesn't receive any form of compensation, the end product is being used commercially.

Ok.

That put me right. Lol.

I only fly for fun.

If I was to charge then I would have to do it at a day rate. As if you look at the overheads you guys have and the editing of the video/pictures (if you have to) I'm a heating engineer here in the U.K. and my day rate is £250-£300/ day.
So I would have to charge the same.

Don't know how it works with you guys over the pond.

But I'm sure you could get a lot of work done in day.

Then there is the "while I'm working for you for a couple of hours the day has been lost, so you will have to pay for the day" scenario.

But obviously, the price is agreed up front.

If this is miles off the price you guys would normally charge. Please advise me.
If I am under by a long way then....I'm getting a licence to do this. Lol.

My target bill rate will be 75-100 bucks per hour for total project
not sure I will actually get that, but we will see
I don't get the day rate unless you are just delivering raw unprocessed shots. Then my target would still be hourly as stated above
