Upgrade software now or later?

For those of you that bought multiple Solos to use in the future ... are you doing the software updates when you get them or just stashing them away as-is? Is there any certainty that the currently available software update will still be available 1, 2 or 3 or more years from now when you pull them out of storage? Just wondering what you guys are doing...

I would not count on new releases from 3dr
and suggest you at least fly it before you put it away
could be defective, then you could not return it months from now

I am with pyrate 100%. I updated the software as soon as I received my second Solo, and then went out and flew it to make sure everything was good. Like pyrate said, you want to know about any problems now instead of later when you might not get any help.

Me too. I open mine up, do the upgrade, fire it up, make sure everything's working OK, then remove the Solo battery and even the transmitter battery. Then close the box, and put it away for "just in case" I have 2 new Iris+ still sealed in their boxes, that I need to open, and get the batteries out. Lipo's out of sight, scare me.
