Unable to start recording in Solo app

Using an iPad Mini2, with a GoPro Hero 3 Black, I'm unable to start recording thru the app. Nor does video get recorded on the iPad as I have set to do.

Suggestions?

I had some issues with starting recording through the Solo app originally. I haven't noticed it lately, but now I normally press the camera elevation paddle to start and stop recording. Eliminates app glitches.

The Hero 3 Black (which is different from the 3+ Black) is not supported by the Solo app, as you can see in its setup screen where you tell the app which model you have:

If you want to control the camera from the app, you must have one of the three GoPro models listed there.
