Hi all .
New solo owner here wondering what options for surveying or mapping without shelling out a bunch of cash?

I am running a iPad mini with my so far stock solo with GoPro 3+ silver

You can create and execute the survey grids using Tower or Mission Planner, upload the missions to the Solo just like any other Pixhawk equipped drone, and execute that mission. Mission Planner and Geosetter can geotag the images for you. But stitching the images together to form an orthomosaic, or do any other kind of processing is big $$. There is software you can buy. And there is also SaaS online like Drone Deploy. But all are thousands of dollars, professional applications. Drone Deploy has a free tier, but you can't export or use the mosaics.

I've been following Dennis Baldwin for some time. If you look at his older videos, he has done a lot with Pixhawk. He is currently more into DJI.
