Solo app active when flying with Tower?

Ironically, I was just thinking about this on the way to work today. But not just both apps at once. Two devices at once. I was thinking I can use my old S4 to run Tower, while my Nexus 6P is running the Solo app as usual. I would need to put a second phone mount on the controller, which I have the components to too. My old S4 in portrait mode running Tower, displaying the map, and making available more control, more modes, auto missions, etc. Plus the ability to change parameters. Then my N6P in the Solo controller mount running the Solo app as usual. I'm going to have to try this later this evening.

Some like the camera view better in the Solo app. And also if you are going to use any of the Smart Shots. But you can use Tower by its self, no problem. And some also don't realize you don't need any app, phone or tablet to fly Solo.

You do not need a phone or tablet to fly Solo. I often fly with just the controller and Solo.

you DO need an app to update solo out of the box before the first flight

Unless you know how to update via commandline
