Return To Launch In 3DR Solo

No controller signal AND no GPS, Solo lands where it is. No Controller= RTL. No GPS= Manual Mode

I have a question about an orbit mode. If I set and execute this mode around a tall structure at some point Solo is at the opposite site of it relative to me and the signal goes to zero. The controller shows a loss of contact with Solo. At this point, will Solo continue with the orbit mode just to go fully around the structure and regain the lost contact with the controller or will the RTL initiate and not allow the drone to complete the mission? If the RTL scenario is true than an orbit mode is useless especially around tall structures unless I can run like hell around the structure to try to keep the contact of Solo with the controller alive and finish the mission. Which one is it?

It is as stated, loss of controller signal will initiate RTL at that point. However, if you use Tower, there is a parameter you can set that tells the Solo to continue with mission on loss of controller signal.
