Replacing a torn ribbon cable

Not sure, but you have other options:
You can repair the cable, replace it with individually stranded wires, or if you never use the accessory port, just let it be. Add some liquid electrical tape so nothing can get shorted.

That would be around the torn cable or the connections you make if you solder it with individual strands.
