Recording question

Hi there,I'm new to the 3dr solo. My question is "can you start and stop recording on the solo app while it's in flight or do I have to hit the record button on my GP hero 4 black just before it takes off ?"

Yes you can if you have a gimbal. Just touch the red button on the app.

Thanks SteveP , I don't have the gimbal hooked up yet, but I tried with the set up that came with the solo, and I couldn't record while it was in flight.

With the gimbal and GP4B, not only can you start and stop video, you can also change from video to photo mode and take a photo while in flight. You can also make many changes to your GoPro video and photo settings while in flight (resolution, fov, etc.)

With no gimbal, you have to start recording directly from GoPro before taking off. Once you install the gimbal, you should have camera control from the app.

Or you can press the "tilt' paddle which will also start and stop the recording, which means you dont have to let go of the controller to push the red button on the app.
