Welcome, Rob. Most of us here think the first thing to do with a new Solo is to download the owners manual, and study it religiously. When you start to fly, do so in an open place with no obstacles such as trees or buildings. Assign "Fly Manual" to your "A" or "B" button, and practice using that mode A LOT. It can really save you when a problem occurs with GPS. The main thing is to take it slow and easy and become familiar with the flight controls and how Solo responds to stick input. Just use your head and fly safe, and you will get the hang of it real quick. Don't hesitate to ask questions on here, as the folks here are the best at helping out. Use the search feature on here with questions, as a lot of them have been brought up in previous posts. But the best thing to make sure to do is read the manual. Good luck, and safe flying.
