The concept that site pushes is that you don't need a license if you are a hobbyist flying a Solo-sized drone.

Biggest issue is councils and filming commercially. In NSW most city councils will bill you 150 for aerial filming even on private property. Some are still free but they require 10 to 20 million public liability and for you to have an ReOC. Even on private property. Crazy that private property aspect.

Insurance requirements make the change useless in NSW for any AP (stills and filming). Not sure about other states (they seem ok from what i can see - yes for public lands no for private lands. The way it should be).

I'm about to do the RePL course and get my ReOC.

Other non filming applications these changes are great for property owners and small non filming businesses.
