Mac users, convert to prores before editing?

Quick Question. For those Mac users out there, who are using Final Cut X or adobe premier. Are you working with straight GoPro footage or converting to prores first and then editing. I've been away from the game for a while. And back then, when I started working with dslr footage, I would convert everything to prores and then edit. Thanks.
 
I would suggest that. You also might want to warp stabilize the clips as well.
 
Thanks for the reply. I did a little googling on the subject as well. I wasn't sure with the new NLE's if t was still needed. I see it is. I'll stick with cineform then. I see GoPro studio does it as well. I generally wrap stabilize in after effects after I've edited. That way I'm just processing small portions of the clip instead of the whole thing.
