Long Distance Wi-Fi Range

I've been reading around on this topic but never got a solid answer to this.

When the typical 2.4 Ghz wifi signal has a max range of 300 ft more or less, how on earth do the Phantoms easily push distance of 1.5 miles on wifi?

Why isn't it possible with the Solo if they both operate on 2.4 Ghz?

Not sure what you're reading. Maybe in a house or on the ground, a home network WiFi signal has a max range of 300ft. But that's not what we're talking about here. The solo is capable of 700-1200 feet easily on the stock antennas. Way more with directionals like Alfas or FPVLR. The Phantom is no different.
