It's compatible, but you don't get full control of the camera like the +.

The latest updates took away the ability for the 3+Black to power on with Solo. You have to turn it on manually before taking off.

thanks for the info im gonna sell my gp3 and upgrade to 4+ because this coming month of may i going to jakarta and buy solo

Yeah, I will probably get a Hero 4 Black down the line, but for now I just have to remember to turn the 3+ on before powering up Solo. I hope your Jakarta trip goes well, and you come home with a new bird. Good luck!
