GoPro ??

Hi all,

I'm thinking about getting an HDR Solo because of the insane price markdowns as of late. My question is, would I be able to use my basic GoPro Hero with the Solo or do I need to have a 3 or 4? I just want to make sure of what I'm getting myself into before I make the purchase. I do plan on upgrading to a newer GoPro, just not right this minute.

I assume meant 3DR Solo?

They are built around the Hero 3+ Black, Hero 4 Silver and Hero 4 Black capabilities. The basic Solo comes with a frame for the GoPro, but it is sized for the smaller 3+/4, the older larger GoPros wouldn't fit.

HOWEVER, you could attach your older GoPro in it's case to the Solo in the same way the frame fits to the Solo but you would not be able to control the camera from the Solo controller nor would you be able to get a live video feed to your phone or tablet while you fly.

You can get a refurbished Hero 4 Black direct from GoPro for $289 though.

Thank you very much, that is kind of what I thought. I just wanted to confirm, guess I'll be shopping for a new HERO sooner rather than later.
