GoPro firmware version?

I have a newly minted GoPro 4 blessed with a Peau Systems 5.4mm lens. It has firmware version HD4.02.01.03.04 on it now.

Is the upgrade to the latest GoPro firmware safe, should I stay at the current version, or is there a preferred version I should feed the new camera.

I don't know if it will make a difference with the different lens or not, but i run 5.0 on all my GoPro's and have had no issues with them communicating and feeding video through Solo.

If you don't ask Peau to NOT update the FW, they will update it when installing the lens. I asked them to NOT update and I run version 3.x on my Peau and all my H4Bs as I don't want or need what 4.x and above offers. 4.x and above loses auto power-on/off and introduces video zooming at some resolutions.
