My HDMI port on the gimbals circuit board came off, is there any way to repair this? The soldering looks close to impossible to repair. Is there any other way to rig it in order to get live feed at least.

I have no idea I wasn't getting a live feed on my tablet since 2 flights ago but I didn't pay much attention to it because I thought it was a go pro or tablet issue but I guess I found my issue now. I came to Panama to film over the weekend so this is definitely a bummer Im trying to find someone that can solder this here but haven't found anyone.

Well, this is 3DR we are talking about here. They're pretty generous about replacing bad hardware. Have you tried contacting support yet?

Panama Huh? 3DR has a dealer in Mexico, Not sure if they can repair there?
If good amount profit involved, then order & have them overnight it to you.
You can deal with 3DR when you get back.

Hope this helps.

Yeah I already contacted support but they haven't gotten back, I guess its just a lost cause for this trip. Hopefully they send me back a gimbal that works in the future.

Thanks for the help anyway.

They got back and said there is nothing I could do and they use special machinery to solder these components. Also they won't be giving me a new gimbal. things like these make DJI seem like a better option every day.

Hmm, I wonder how they can tell from user error from manufacturing defect. Why won't they give you a new gimbal?

Same thing happened to me today. The video feed developed a significant green tint to it about 10 seconds after T/O, then started frame dropping and then quit all together. Luckily I was still able to get my shot! This drone is less than 2 months old with about 15 flights and has had VERY light use. I was careful packing the wires when mounting the gimbal (I was more worried about pinching/kinking wires, who knew the hdmi cable port would get torqued off). I couldn't have done anything different, especially pertaining to assembly instructions. I'm lucky I found this damage pretty quickly, since I troubleshot with two GoPros and two tablets and ruled those out. This is obviously a manufacturer defect. I'm a competent solderer, but this doesn't look repairable, at least not a robust repair. I could easily resolder the mounts, but all 12 pins are broken off. 3dr needs to stand behind this, I'll have to try my luck on Monday. In the meantime, I would recommend that anyone who reads this inspect the solder joints and find a way to reinforce the bond on their hdmi port, and also reduce the torque from the cable on the connection. This is NOT the product that 3dr promised.
