Either I messed up the focusing or I got a bad sample

Agree that panning & tilting should be slower.
Stability is rock solid so that's good.
It would be easier to check the focus if you were filming closer to something like a tower, building, etc.

Also, what GoPro settings are you using?

like others have stated, the best way to nail focus is plug your gopro into a large screen and adjust it live
What I did was run a 10ft HDMI cable to my 60 inch tv and pointed the gopro out my front door
then messed with the focus until all four corners were as sharp as possible
none of these cheap lenses are going to be perfect in all four corners unless you just get lucky
but if you average it out to get the sharpest in all four corners most folks will not notice it in video
pixel peepers in stills will find it everytime

2.7k 60fps wide Protune, gopro colour

YouTube has downscaled it to 1080p something to do with my export settings in adobe premiere elements.

It is indeed a lovely spot. I'm marooned down south at the moment :(....the shots from over the water looking back to Snowdonia do it justice. Nice work despite any techy problems.

Checked focussing on my 55" tv and it is perfect.

Checked the raw gopro footage and that is sharper and pans are smooth so looks like an editing issue.

I use Adobe Premiere Elements 15 so if anyone else is familiar with this software could I have some tips please :)

Changed output to constant bit rate instead of variable bit rate
