Hello everybody, a little background on myself, I live in weston FL and we have two nice ama rc fields in the area (Markham Park and Vista View), I checked today on the FAA app (b4ufly) and both of them are within a 5 mile range of a small airport and a hospital helipad, so I am allowed to fly there under ama rules, what do you think?

FAA drone flight restriction on AMA field question. ( sorry for the misspelling, my phones autocorrect is going a little crazy....)

Yes I am, I just need to to renew my markham rc park permit, I'll do it in Monday. Thanks for the answer

What about the 400 ft ceiling restriction, is it allowed on AMA fields to go higher than that? ( not that I'm going to, but it's good to know.

I hope the FAA and AMA get on the same page soon..

ya...the rc jets that fly there don't follow the altitude or boundaries, yet I have never heard of any FAA inspectors showing up even though Fort Lauderdale's (FLL) flight path is very near there for take offs. With that said you see lots of air traffic but nothing under 1500 feet.
