I was flying my first night flight. Visiting friends in Salt Lake so i decided to do some filming at night at one of the mormon temples up in the mountains. 22 degrees outside and we take off. i pointed the stock antenna's down and out. we were flying pretty well when i decided to do an orbit shot of the temple. i moved the drone back to make the radius larger and i also raised the altitude. the drone starts to orbit when half way it RTH. It climbs and starts to pass through the center of the temple. check out the video footage.

i kind of regret not buying a second drone. i'm $420 into mine. trying to not spending anymore before pulling the trigger on a mavic.

How high do most of you guys have your RTH set to?

Thanks,
Sid

You need to set your RTH to be higher than the highest obstacle in your flight area. This is the most common user error when it comes to orbit.

P2P is correct. You have to remember to check your surrounding area, and set your RTH to clear any obstacles it may encounter. You have to do this with each new area you fly in. Good luck.
