So i love watching 360 aerial videos with my headset and can even fly my bebop2 fpv with the gear vr, SO i thought hey i can do this myself if i go ahead and buy a gear vr 360 unit instead of the $1000 ricoh setup thats coming out for SOLO. Check out this photo I found of someone that actually did it.

I'm still trying to figure out how and where to mount it, and if i will have to take off the existing 3 axis gimbal and replace with standard gimbal, so at least i have eyes in the air.

Any comments thoughts ideas suggestions PLEASE respond. I have a ton of random items I bought (antenna mounts) additional camera mount with vibration pads, etc.

I think this guy just daisy chained a bunch of gopro mounts somehow, any help much appreciated!!!!!!

You can do it just like in that image he extended that much to keep the legs of solo out of the picture you can also mount something on the accesory bay behind the gimbal.

I understand getting the legs out of the frame, but "mount" is a unique term. I don't dare start drilling holes into solo, but then again I don't trust adhesives or expoxy to hold up in wind and vibration. And I know the pixhawk is right in that vicinity of the place I'd mount it. So I'm stuck as to what the best mounting method is. Also my gear 360 didn't come with the stand so I need to find a bolt with the exact same thread pattern to mount that.... just thinking out loud.
I can't see enough details from the image to replicate his method, nor can I find its origin. Found it under a Google Image search.

The adhesive tape with the GoPro mounts will hold a GoPro on the fender of a car going 80 MPH.

I think it will be fine for what you're doing.

Do you guys think i should remove the 3 axis gimbal when mounting the gear 360, added weight i know. but in terms of obstruction of movement of the gimbal. My mount i believe is far enough away, but I still need to see where i'm going! should i used the fixed mount?
I bought the adhesive, broke down a camera tripod to use as extension with threaded end to insert into camera. I'll post a photo once i have it together. Flight time is probably going to drop from 15-20min to 10 or less i'm guessing with added weight.... That Ricoh kit is more than the drone itself

Made with a piece of aluminum wire, 1/4-20 screw a couple of nuts and washers. I am testing one tomorrow that hangs 3 feet below the drone as a pendulum. Flew 16 minutes without a gimbal and I did not connect the HDMI since I don't trust it after it killed two Hero 4s. I plan on a cheap camera for a flight cam that won't cost so much when it's cooked by the drone. This camera is capable of live streaming 360 via bluetooth, I'm sure Solo can handle a cell phone's weight to send it via 4G direct from the craft, with two phones you should have unlimited range.

I have a Ricoh Theta S. It takes great 360 photos and I'm planning to attach it to my Solo for some photos like that.

What's the gear they are releasing for Soko?
