App device runs out of power

I have had this happen twice now and don't know what to do when my Android phone running the Solo app dies. Both times, I brought Solo back and stopped flying.
Can it fly safely without the app running?

Yes, it will fly fine without the app. The app is not even required. You can take the Solo and controller only to the field and fly it like a traditional RC.

Yes, those setting will not change. They are written to the controller in Solo and do not reset on power down.
