Hello, If I wanted to draw vertical geometric shapes with the Solo, is this done easily, and how thanks? I can do similar with Litchi and DJI but I don't think Litchi works for 3DR. Thanks in advance!

Hi. I’ve flown the combination your doing out about 900m, round a Mesa and back a few times. It’s ok but fight times are much shorter than usual and it makes a bit of noise and wind as you’ve probably discovered already. Have fun and show us your pics!

Hi Ed. It's simply an attempt to make an interesting single image using the quad as a platform to add some interest above and beyond a regular image. In this one I attached fine grade steel wool which I ignite that normally we see people spinning in circles to make interesting long exposures...

Hello, are there others on the site looking at making pictures using their solo's creatively? Here is one of my efforts with steel wool.

Archaeopteryx, Wally, Wilma, Icarus and Buster. I have a backup solo that remains un-named. (Icarus is a Phantom 3 that started out as Archaeopterxy but crashed bad with loss of camera and significant repairs so reborn with his name as a warning)

Solved. The GoProBlack needs to be set to 30FPS instead of 24 for the video to work. Solved. I can make the GoPro record by pressing the record button manually if I stick my fingernail in the small bit that isn't obscured by the housing. Thanks folks for the trips and suggestions offered...

Thanks Mode-S. That's very kind of you. Ill try and puzzle it out first. As you may guess from my site visit frequency, it's a hobby I pick up and put back down a bit. I have some shots in mind to capture up in Qld around Xmas so I need to get it sorted out in that time frame. Will post pics...

Hi Maddog. I worded that badly. Yes the power switch is at the front, but the record function is the one I couldn't work out. Pressing the white circle on the app had no effect, and I can't access the record button at the top one the GoPro is installed into the gimbal housing.

Hi. Some progress and some puzzlement. The GoPro Hero 3 silver works, but the H3Black does not. With regards to the Silver, the feed is perfect (nothing intermittent or weird), but the hit rate of getting it running is 50/50. I think it might be the sequence of powering drone, app, remote, go...

Hi Steve. If you are referring to the screen shot above, yes. It's a GoPro Hero3 Black. I also have a Hero3 silver. I could try that. Also I should add I have never update the GoPro firmware as I have never needed to before. Is that necessary or useful? Does anyone operate their solo without...
