Sadly batteries aren't worth that much due to age, but you can use sidepilot or solex as a replacement app. The 3DR hardware is still very good, and the community has kept the firmware up to date with open solo. With a little work you can get them flying better than new.

Sadly lipos have a limited storage life, and all we can hope to do is prolong the inevitable loss of capacity. As they age, they become increasingly unpredictable as well, prone to sudden voltage drops, internal resistance changes, and self heating. Not much you can do, other than risk flying it...

Venmo works great for me, whatever is easiest and fee-less for you! My preferred shipper *is* UPS so that's great as well! And no rush, not like the solos are getting any older or anything :p

Yes, I saw that one. Instead of integrating the vue to gopro mount, I think I will integrate a tarot vue gimbal with the solo. Seems like that has been done before and is pretty simple.

The dedicated vue gimbal would literally triple the price of this project. I got the drone + gimbal NIB for 200, and the imager for a fifth of retail. I disassembled GoPro mount completely and freed the tilt pcb. There may actually be enough room for the vue if I just move it backwards, but...
