12 sats, and still no gps lock....

I work with military grade uas and the difference in GPS precision is astounding. Bear in mind we aren't driving cars here.

Play telemetry back in Mission Planner.

12 sats, and still no gps lock....

Or, as established with some very high end systems, totally confuse the solution. Unless using military grade hardware that is not "de-tuned" for civilian use, only so much can be done to obtain high accuracy GPS precision. An option is to use a DGPS and RTK system but those are neither...

12 sats, and still no gps lock....

Although important, the number of satellites the system sees is not as important as HDOP. Signal strength in combination with satellite count establishes accuracy. I've already seen crash logs from someone that had good satellite count but HDOP above 2.45. During the entire flight the system...

    QA Issues with Solo

Folks, Face it, you're dealing with a first release that was pumped to the market a bit faster than it might have been. Part of that was due to a push to announce at the NAB, part was timing to the release of the P3, and part due to clamoring of people that pre-ordered with no patience. We're...

DBSMODs antenna testing... 2.5miles so far!

DBSMODs antenna testing... 2.5miles so far!

You will note my original post referencing distance limits mentioned the U.S. For those living here it doesn't make a lot of sense to be investing in long range video and telemetry equipment unless they intend to wait and file for BLOS operations permits after the next regulatory go 'round a...

DOT/FAA Part 107 NPRM. If and once implemented I think all the long distance MR folks will be getting their wings clipped.

DBSMODs antenna testing... 2.5miles so far!

I wonder how many posting about the need for mile+ ranges are flying within the U.S.? Those that are will not have that need for much longer.

[URGENT] need help for my X8+

It may just be a matter of "mapping" the Pixhawk pulse width on that channel to match what the gimbal controller uses for operational range. Through MP try setting the channel range to run between 1000 and 2000ms and see what happens. It could also be a PID issue where the gimbal settings need...

    I just might be out.....

I have "heard" 3DR has not authorized any free batteries because of a gimbal shortage. They are alleged to have stated if the gimbal ships later than the aircraft the warranty period would be adjusted to reflect that. The Solo will have a fixed camera mount when it ships. Looking at the...

    Solo Operations Manual

Although that manual is not a "release" version it demonstrates the level of information and tech writing skill that will be used for the final version. Only 3DR and Eagle Tree provide ample and well written documentation for the end user to take advantage of. A lack of a clear, accurate, and...

    X-8 Starter Thread

I obtained an X-8 about a year ago prior to the addition of the mapping 8 to the product line. Had some issues with a weak video Tx and a defective monitor, which 3DR handled with alacrity once notified. Since then it has been completely reliable.and very accurate in positioning.
