You will most definitely need a cube, can be stock though I’m guessing is what you mean? It also has the USB connector.

Solex is the best IMHO, only on android though, so if you need something for iPad/iPhone, Side Pilot is the go. Both are more than worth the $ for the amount of work these guys put in.

In one of the photos it appears to me the battery is possibly caught inside the rear of the battery tray/body as suggested by DJMc - around this area is where you need to push. When you push there, can you see the tray/body moving independently from the battery? If it is stuck there, also try...
