Anyone want a Storm32 gimbal adapter cable?

Update: Several of you have asked me about the cable. I have been away from the forum for a while since I am at university, but I am considering making a batch of these cables. If you are interested, please complete this poll by October 5th. I need this information to determine if this is a...

    Gimbal HDMI cable routing?

This is a question for gimbal owners (I do not have one and I am curious). How is the HDMI cable routed through the gimbal? I have a thin ribbon HDMI cable for a SToRM32 gimbal but the Panorama smart shot does not work for me as it just wraps the cable around the gimbal and locks the whole mess...

How to video showing 3.3v to 5v 3dr Solo Pixhawk 2.0 Mod

I might be willing to pay that, I am a broke college kid though so my perception of money is a little different lol

How to video showing 3.3v to 5v 3dr Solo Pixhawk 2.0 Mod

For real!! I would happily pay $30-40 for that mod. Green cube is impossible to find and costs almost as much as I paid for my entire Solo. The stock cube would be fine if it could just run ArduCopter master safely.

Anyone want a Storm32 gimbal adapter cable?

Also, just a status update, I am still doing some math to determine shipping and final pricing (may be closer to $20) but I finished the first "production sample" cable today. Had to get good at using the crimpers on these tiny connectors. The astute among you may notice the power wires go...

Anyone want a Storm32 gimbal adapter cable?

What you did will work, I just thought that would be a pain for cabling so I hit up my friendly neighborhood guy-with-a-milling-machine-in-his-garage. Your solution is probably a little more practical though. You can charge the camera (3DR includes a 5v rail that provides up to 1A of power on...

    solo hdmi

If you want a thin one, you can find them on Alibaba for a lot cheaper than in most UAS shops. You have to order the ribbon cable in a specific length, then pick if you want right angle connectors or regular connectors. Works out to less than $15 for one cable and it's razor thin too. Highly...

Anyone want a Storm32 gimbal adapter cable?

UPDATE: If you are interested please read this! I have been doing some math on parts cost and I realized that it is a lot more sensible not to include every wire of the cable. I could include all 8 wires, but all you need to make a SToRM32 gimbal work is battery power (2 wires) and MAVlink from...

Anyone want a Storm32 gimbal adapter cable?

They have published the gimbal "beauty plate" that they used, but the center-to-center spacing of the grommet holes is pretty different for the Solo gimbal vs a SToRM32. The SToRM32 is actually slightly too large (45mm center to center) to make a plate for unless you make one that extends just a...

Anyone want a Storm32 gimbal adapter cable?

This is the gimbal I have. The gimbal itself is fairly well made although the PCB solder quality is a little questionable...but for the price not too bad. On mine the USB port popped off (taking solder mask with it) so I am hoping they will warranty replace the board, but in the future I guess...

Anyone want a Storm32 gimbal adapter cable?

Basically that is the idea. This doesn't solve the problem of mounting the aftermarket gimbal to the Solo, but if you've got a drill and some plywood or some acrylic then you could fab something pretty easily. Controlling the gimbal from the controller works as expected, but I have not tested...

Anyone want a Storm32 gimbal adapter cable?

Photos: Below are prototype photos, the finished cable would be slightly different in a couple ways (please read so you know what to expect!): The wires would match the colors of the wires on the internal 3DR gimbal cable (so the wiring diagram on the Solo Dev Guide will be valid for this...

Anyone want a Storm32 gimbal adapter cable?

UPDATE: This is the current cable design. It provides power to the gimbal and MAVlink (making the gimbal controlled from the Solo transmitter). It does NOT provide access to GoPro controls like the stock gimbal. I just successfully installed a Storm32 gimbal (the cheap aluminum BangGood kind)...

Solo Transmitter Sanity Check via Solex app

I'm fairly certain, in hindsight, it was either something going wrong with MP at the time, or that MP had set a channel override intentionally in the past and somehow it hadn't cleared the override. Ultimately I don't think it was entirely Solo's fault, I was just a little surprised it's so...
