Need sanity check from actual pilots (state plane)

Eric, I just checked. The decimal degrees that Gismo provides is accurate and Google maps takes me to the same spot.

    Tower app. Input GPS coordinate.

I wrote, "While we were at it on the official project day, I wanted to be able to take advantage of the Solo's capabilities to do a post-implementation flight to all the posted markers and have 4K video results the gun club owners can use for "verification" and "auditing" purposes of the effort...

    Tower app. Input GPS coordinate.

I'm part of my local Las Vegas Soaring Club, still a new member, and I volunteered along with four other senior members of the club who was asked by our neighbor across the street, a gun club, to use our capabilities to locate GPS coordinates that mark their property line, and have a crew...

Need sanity check from actual pilots (state plane)

Heck-if-I-know. I haven't sanity checked / cross verified the decimal degrees yet. For all I know, those values in Google maps will put me somewhere in the Red sea. Lol. I'll get around to it later this afternoon.

    Tower app. Input GPS coordinate.

Bro, "strung out", is exactly how I've been feeling with coords and conversion from Gismo and Earthlink. Ugh. But, yeah, I'm going to try out his method first and then the other using Mission Planner on a laptop. Might as well get exposure to both methods while I'm at it. There's nothing like a...

    Tower app. Input GPS coordinate.

Okay, I'm going to put it on a laptop to bring with me so I can also try that method if I'm able to directly input. Thanks.

Need sanity check from actual pilots (state plane)

I just discovered in Gismo that I can also specify decimal degrees, get that value, as well as the state plane values. Strange.

Need sanity check from actual pilots (state plane)

Thanks. Much appreciated. I'll pick four of them to use as a small test once the weather is good.

    Tower app. Input GPS coordinate.

Got an official word from 3DR support that they don't support direct input of coordinates in Tower. Personally, I find this a bit odd for software that allows an operator to perform what essentially equates to surveying pieces of land? Like...a shovel...without the shovel...but you can use the...

    Windows Tablet practice use?

You'd be as surprised as I am, me being a VStudio developer, that I don't have a WinPhone device. It's totally bizarre, I know. Was hoping someone in my tribe copped one so I could check it out and ever so often, ask them to beta test an app I might code for practice purpose lol. Making a note...

Need sanity check from actual pilots (state plane)

Did you use the same link for the conversion or did you use a different site and methodology?

Need sanity check from actual pilots (state plane)

That's weird because I got the Reversed x y SP? That's weird. How I did it was zoom into a point with my mouse and got the values from the little box on the left.

    Tower app. Input GPS coordinate.

Thanks for the info/tip. I hope there's no rain tomorrow so I can do a small test in the field.

    Windows Tablet practice use?

Didn't see your rant but, I can certainly relate, but, now that you mention it, you probably won't even see the FAA's B4UFly app either as they made it "only for" Smartphones aka iPhone, iPad. Just confirmed it on the Nexus. *rolls eyes*. This specific platform crap needs to stop and they all...

My first few flights debrief ...

Tower is free mission planning software from 3DR Robotics. Only available for Android OS. It's not so much a question of worth but, a question of need. And if you have a project where you need to conduct an autonomous flight for "surveying" purposes then, the answer is, yes, it's worth it. But...
