You want it to calibrate to how the solo is orientating when placed in each position. Being 90 degrees is not a factor, only the angle from each position so the computer knows what it up and what is not up.

According to my conversation with 3DR support today, you have to factory reset both the solo, and the controller. Delete the app and reinstall forcing the 1.3 update again.

Found that parameter setting with tower, thanks a lot for this info. On my way back thru the rockies Thursday I'll attempt another flight at that same location after changing that parameter to 69681 (which calculates to around 10k'). I'll be honest, i tried to find a work around to fix this by either hacking the gopro software to remove the overlay imbedded in the FW, or by hacking the PP software they provide (i obtained a copy not from them), but the GP FW is pretty hard to crack, and the PP SW is almost impossible to hack...

It's a subtle vignette and only really seen on white or lighter colored backgrounds. Heres a video i shot a week or so ago and you can see the pink hue in a number of shots where the background was light colored.

no. follow all the instructions in post #1. after step 6, step 7 says to reboot solo (hard boot - power off and then back on) step 8 will happen AFTER the reboot if you did it correctly.

i did not open the camera. pliers with electrical tape and a small precision flat head screw driver (to pry ring around lens off). some plumbers tape around the threads to hold focus on new lens.
