Newb here... Is it true the stock, out of the box, latest Phantom have the ability to fly indoors without he special hardware that Solo needs?

Hey Gang- Is anyone aware of a sale in which an extra battery is shipped with the Solo? I came across a couple forums that mentioned Best Buy and even 3DR were offering an extra battery with purchase. Are there any other deals like that out there? Thanks.
