Ok everyone thanks for all the input. I hooked the camera up to the tv with the camera on charge and got nothing. So I'll go with the GoPro 4 black solution. Thanks to everyone.

Ok, I see what you mean. I cannot actually charge the camera with the gimbal hdmi cable plugged in. I tried with no battery with camera installed in the gimbal but that doesn't work... No power to camera.

Dave, I am getting good video with the gimbals hdmi cable plugged into the camera. When the camera is placed into the gimbal which then gives you the ability to control the camera through the app that's when it starts to cycle indicating, to me at least, that the gimbal is not controlling the...

I did and it looks clean and undamaged.

Dave, Sorry the camera is actually continuing to cycle on and off.

The camera shuts down and now it stays shut down. Battery is fully charged.

Tony, I'm hoping it is user error in which case it will be an easy fix. The Solo is running 2.4.2 and the GP is running 3.02. Thanks

Jeff, I have followed your suggests to the letter. I can now get a video feed provided that I only have the HDMI cable connected. If I install the Camera into the gimbal it will only stay powered on for about 5secs then shuts down. Thank you.

GP battery is fully charged and have tried other battery as well. Camera works fine outside of Solo except for the update issue. Files were placed in the root directory. Once in a while I can hit record and get continuous feed from the solo but as I said before the camera normally only stays on...

I think your right about it being a camera issue. Just want to be sure before investing in another camera.

Thats true. However it is part of the system. Without a good working camera the Solo is just a good model aircraft. Anyway I'll be checking the HDMI connections inside the Airframe next.
