Doesn't really play havoc with the GPS so much as it plays havoc with the compasses.

Just because the winds at ground level are that doesn't mean at 400 AGL they will remain that. Might be winder, might not be.

Hard to know. Have you said the conditions yet? Was it exceedingly windy?

Not entirely true. My gp4silver powers on just fine with 3.5.4/3.0.0 with the original cube and the 5v mod. It won't power off however when I power down the battery. Which is not a huge deal. I have the gp set to auto turn off after five minutes. I've run the battery down in it too much...

Sounds like a loose connection somewhere inside the Solo. Mine's been apart a few times for some modifications, and if you don't put everything back just right this can happen. If you've never taken it apart not sure. The hdmi cable inside the Solo (not the connector at the gimbal mind you)...

Interesting. This mod (or something to this effect) was made to my Solo last month by my brother and none of those side effects happened (3.8v reported by all cells, the losing of a digit on the RSSI db scale). I'm also running 3.5.4.

HDOP can be affected by the K Index (solar interference). You can have 22 sats locked and solar can blow the HDOP out.
