I've flown in open field about 300 feet up and 200 feet out and lose signal often triggering RTH, its no fence breach or anything since limit is set to unlimited, the stock antennas are horrible. I sent my 3DR back to BestBuy because of the controller range limitations.

In the app, go to advanced settings-> Turn on advanced flight modes -> Set either A or B of your controller to FLY:MANUAL. Enjoy, but be careful no GPS is a huge risk and it is not stable...will drift around a lot.

I've noticed I am never able to receive good GPS signal to even allow takeoff when they skies aren't clear. I might have to wait even 5 minutes for unclear skies. When it's clear, I think it works just fine.

Always manual, I doubt it will ever bounce with auto but you should trust your fingers more than the computer. Auto only when showing off:)
